Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

General trade process — logistics, compliance, licensing, payment. Continuously updated. Peanut-oil-specific questions are on the Product page.

What export licenses are required to ship agricultural commodities from Brazil to China?

Brazilian exporters of edible oils require: ANVISA registration or export authorization (food product), a MAPA phytosanitary certificate for each shipment, RADAR/Siscomex customs accreditation, and GACC supplier registration (Decree 248 / Announcement No. 219). Eutopio manages this compliance infrastructure on behalf of its origination partners.

Which Incoterms does Eutopio typically use?

Eutopio offers flexibility depending on buyer preference and destination port. Common terms: FOB (Santos or Paranaguá), CIF (Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin), or CFR. DAP is available for bonded warehouse delivery arrangements.

What is the typical lead time from order confirmation to delivery at a Chinese port?

Approximately 45–75 days from contract execution to arrival at the Chinese destination port, depending on production scheduling, vessel availability, and port conditions. Eutopio provides real-time shipment tracking through the Verix traceability platform.

How does Eutopio handle quality disputes after delivery?

All Eutopio shipments include pre-shipment inspection by an accredited third-party inspector (SGS or equivalent). In the event of a quality discrepancy at destination, Eutopio's China service team coordinates with the buyer and the inspection agency to assess the claim and initiate resolution per contract terms.

Can payments be made in RMB instead of USD?

Yes. Eutopio is building RMB settlement infrastructure through its Pontix partnership, aligned with the Brazil–China currency swap framework. Direct CNH settlement through CIPS is available for eligible counterparties. Please contact our finance team for current availability.

Does Eutopio provide trade finance or extended payment terms to buyers?

Eutopio does not offer standard buyer financing. However, for established long-term trading partners, Eutopio and its sister companies are open to discussing customized financing arrangements that meet specific needs. Please raise this in your procurement inquiry if relevant.

How is supply chain traceability implemented?

Eutopio co-develops and deploys Verix — a blockchain-based real-world asset (RWA) ledger — to record every supply chain milestone from farm origin to destination delivery. Buyers, lenders, and auditors are granted permissioned access to verify records independently. This infrastructure also supports Eutopio's trade finance and receivables structures.

What are the labeling requirements for peanut oil imported into China?

Chinese labeling regulations (GB 7718) require: product name in Chinese, ingredient list, net content, producer and importer name and address, production date, shelf life, storage conditions, and quality grade. Labels must also comply with GB 2716 for edible vegetable oils. Eutopio assists buyers in preparing compliant label artwork for import consignments.
